Since 2005, Roff Home has opened its doors to paranormal investigators seeking answers about the Watseka Wonder story, the spiritualists who built this home, and the impact of the story and their activities.

End of an Era: Roff Home to Close on Nov. 1, 2015
After being open to the public for a decade, Roff Home will close its doors to public access on Nov. 1, 2015, returning to its original purpose of simply being a home. Although more than one year away, advance notice is being provided so those interested in experiencing the home may plan to do so.
Many open houses and themed exhibitions are planned for this coming year, including:
Death and Mourning in Victorian America: An Exhibit of Post-Mortem Photography
As the the new technology of photography emerged in nineteenth century Victorian America, so did the phenomenon of taking pictures of family members as they lay dying or soon after they had died. Called post-mortem photography, these bizarre images capture aspects of death, dying and the mourning process of the Victorian Age, which have been all but lost to modernity. Also on display will be memorabilia and documents that help illustrate and explain the Victorian view of death, dying and the mourning process.

This event is open to the public. No reservation is required. The cost is $10 per person. All proceeds fund the ongoing renovation and restoration of the home.
The Grand Finale: Open Houses in October 2015
In October 2015, Roff Home will host six open houses on the following dates, including Halloween:
Fri., Oct. 9, 2015, 8 pm to midnight
Fri., Oct. 16, 2015, 8 pm to midnight
Sat., Oct. 17, 2015, 8 pm to midnight
Fri., Oct. 23, 2015, 8 pm to midnight
Sat., Oct. 24, 2015, 8 pm to midnight
Sat., Oct. 31, 2015, 8 pm to midnight
This series of open houses will be the last public events that its current owner will hold at Roff Home. No additional public events or private investigations are contemplated after Nov. 1, 2015. If you wish to see Roff Home, these open houses will be your last chance to do so.
